“We are not the customers. We are the products.” Thinkers like Seth Godin have brought up this concern. There’s another layer to this that goes deeper (and more terrifying). When do we stop being human, and when do we start becoming the products? After all, we have incorporated so many corporate values. We worship companies. Way more than we like to admit. And with social media sucking so much of our attention, when it consumes us and changes our worldview, how do we stand apart from the product ourselves?
