Boiling water problem

The culture has taught us to watch a pot of boiling water to see what might happen. Even when we understand the outcome, the suspense isn’t in the juice of storytelling but in the pursuit of getting it over with as quickly as possible. Which is ironic, cause watching and waiting for the water to boil feels so much longer this way. We can’t wait for it to spill over these days.
